We've received an important update from EBSCO about upcoming adjustments to their technical infrastructure.
From the vendor:
In an effort to provide the best possible response times for your EBSCO subscriptions and services, in July 2016 we are making adjustments to our technical infrastructure. To accomplish this, our services will be delivered from a much larger range of IP addresses and we will no longer be able to provide a list of the IP addresses used by our servers.
This change will only affect those customers who may currently be restricting system access to particular IP addresses – also known as “whitelisting”. For the majority of customers we do not expect this change to have any direct impact, but please consult with your technology department to determine the impact to your organization.
The Government of Canada is currently rethinking how best to support the cultural sector in embracing the new realities of digital content. Colleges Ontario has released its 2016 report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Ontario colleges. Findings show that nearly 84% of Ontario’s college graduates find employment within six months of graduating. On April 28, 2016, Gale will be retiring the "My Account" feature in InfoTrac products and encouraging users to use Google Tools to save and share documents. After this date, new accounts may not be created; however, existing users will continue to have access to their saved documents until summer 2016 when the "My Account" feature is fully retired.
CELA (the Centre for Equitable Library Access), a public library service for people who cannot read print due to a disability, offers access to an extensive alternative format collection free-of-charge through all Ontario public libraries, thanks to funding from the Government of Ontario.
CELA provides access to more than 350,000 books in formats such as audio, braille and e-text. Users can download books from the CELA website or directly to a DAISY player or mobile device, or receive physical materials by mail. The collection includes books for all ages and interests, including popular and award-winning books for kids and teens.

The Board of Directors of the Ontario Colleges Library Service (OCLS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Virginia Roy as the new Executive Director, effective February 8, 2016.
Ms. Roy's appointment follows a national search undertaken by the Board, with the assistance of LHH Knightsbridge executive search services that attracted a large number of highly qualified candidates.
